The saying, ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” may, in the context of music, be rendered, “Beauty is in the ear of the listener;” so it is that the artists featured on this project are, to my ear, “Beautiful People.” That beauty encompasses wholeness of expression—totality of being—in a word, integrity. It is the integrity of these artists—their unequivocal dedication in the forging of an honest and completely uncompromising expression of themselves—in the presentation of this music, ultimately their music, that constitutes the “Beauty” to which I refer. From the fully committed—naked—offering of themselves, free of pretense or insecurity, emerges a beauty profoundly eclipsing the superficial scope of that word’s common usage, affecting an incontestably unique and indelible impress upon the fabric of life. And so, life, our life—the environment in which we breathe, move and have being—is fundamentally altered; eternally enriched—if we will listen—by Beautiful People.
